Thomas J. Robertson, Jr., M.D.
A native of Suffolk, Virginia, Dr. Robertson is the owner of Rocky Mount Eye. Throughout his education, Dr. Robertson distinguished himself academically and earned a plethora of academic awards, honors, and distinctions. After interning in internal medicine at the National Naval Medical Center, he served the 9th Marine Expeditionary Brigade as a general medical officer for two years on Okinawa, Japan.
Dr. Robertson distinguished himself during his ophthalmology residency at the National Naval Medical Center, including rotations on the NIH Uveitis Service and the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. Prior to moving to Rocky Mount in 1998, Dr. Robertson served at the Naval Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida, and at the prestigious Florida Eye Clinic, where he was recognized as an accomplished surgeon, clinician, and teacher.
Dr. Robertson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the North Carolina Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. His practice in Comprehensive Ophthalmology emphasizes anterior segment disease with a concentration in cataract surgery (over 20,000 cases and counting) and glaucoma management; also including diabetic eye disease, ophthalmic plastics, uveitis, and pediatric ophthalmic disorders.
On a personal note, Dr. Robertson enjoys gardening, bonsai, beach life, weight lifting, and spending time with his family.
Willard N. Shepherd, O.D.
Dr. Bill Shepherd is a native of Rocky Mount, N.C.
Dr. Shepherd graduated with a B. S. degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where he was a James M. Johnston Scholar.
Upon graduation, Dr. Shepherd entered the Pennsylvania College of Optometry earning a B.S. degree in 1979. For his academic and civic achievements while in school, he was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa-International Optometric Honor Fraternity. He was awarded his Doctor of Optometry in 1982. After serving several internships, Dr. Shepherd entered the U.S. Air Force as chief of eye care services at the USAF Hospital in Columbus, Mississippi.
Dr. Shepherd is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Southern Council of Optometrists, and is a past president of the Northeastern District Optometric Society. He has served as a trustee for the North Carolina State Optometric Society and has exemplified excellence in his profession by becoming a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
His special interests in optometry include family vision care as well as the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and ocular urgencies.
On a personal side, Dr. Shepherd is an active church member. He enjoys music, playing golf, woodworking, and family time.
Caleb Lesnoff, O.D.
Dr. Caleb Lesnoff is a native of Winchester, VA. He moved to North Carolina to attend Campbell University and graduated with a B. S. degree in Biology in 2007.
After graduating, Dr. Lesnoff worked in the optometric field for four years. Discovering his passion for optometry, he moved to San Antonio, TX to attend the Rosenberg school of Optometry. He graduated with honors in 2015, and moved back to North Carolina.
Dr. Lesnoff is a member of the American Optometric Association and the North Carolina Optometric Society. Dr. Lesnoff provides Primary Eye Care for all ages, and treatment and management of Ocular diseases and emergencies with a special interest in glaucoma.
Outside of work, Dr. Lesnoff enjoys hiking with his family, as well as grilling, mountain biking, and scuba diving.
